When I bought the car just 2 weeks ago, a Lancia Delta Series 3 1.4 T-Jet engine, the engine light came on when I pushed it up to 160 km/h, the engine temperature gauge no longer worked. Subsequently, with the obd after Reading the codes i reset the system. By doing this the engine light disappeared and the car temperature gauge started ti work, until I decided to push the car up to 160 again to see if it would reappear and It s exactly what happened, the temperature was no longer detected (obviously I reset the system again and it works). I would like to understand which of the two could be the problem, the sensor or the thermostat.

A thermostat controls temperature, temperature sensor and gauge tell you the temperature. Sorry can’t be of more help here, I haven’t heard of thw car your working on.
