When I was dropping a .webm file into the movies folder in desktop mode with the intent of adding my own custom boot animation and then going back into gaming mode, not only did it fail to load a boot animation of any kind (though there was sound iirc), a bunch of white vertical lines started to progressively glow across the entire display for some reason? Pressing the power button and putting it to sleep then turning it back on made everything go back to normal which is relieving, but does anyone have a clue what exactly happened or why? I honestly can’t tell whether the .webm had anything to do with it but something tells me it might’ve been a pure coincidence as everything functioned exactly as intended afterwards as if nothing happened, nor was I able to replicate the issue. Just wanted to put this experience out there since I don’t know if this is anything serious, it really looked a lot like a hardware malfunction if anything
I think I had the same issue as you, except I only installed Firefox in desktop mode and was returning to gaming mode when it happened, so I don’t believe it had anything to do with your startup movie. Here’s what my display looked like: https://imgur.com/a/1rH3m5g
I immediately submitted a ticket to support explaining what happened, just in case this was something serious that could damage my display if it occurred again, but they only told me to watch out for it happening again and to update the ticket if it did. No idea what caused it, because something as innocuous as installing Firefox shouldn’t do something like that.
I had to fully shut down the deck by holding the power button until it powered off, then turn it back on, to restore functionality. Seems to be okay after… I hope.
It did a look a like that yeah! Glad I’m not the only one
Check your screen for dead or stuck pixels. I just found a green stuck pixel in the top left of my display. Gonna see if I can get it replaced :(
