Thinking about getting a EV. Just curious why you got yours. The reasons I can think of are:

  • Cheaper Fuel ⚡️
  • They are cool/trendy 😎
  • Lower maintenance 🔧

          Still solar powered! Hydro is a gravity battery, with the sun continually lifting water to the higher elevation via evaporation so it can precipitate and flow through that dam over and over. Wind turbines are also solar powered.

      We got solar, heat pump, and then the Leaf all close in time and with the same themes.

      Same here! Enphase has a new EV charger that lets you only use excess solar for your car (if you already have their ecosystem). I’m really tempted to do it since I don’t drive much (WFH). I love the idea of only using solar to charge my car.

        Emporia too. That’s the way I went. The Emporia Vue home energy monitoring system is very cool. 5% off black friday. Meh. It’s already pretty cheap.
