Hi, just gotten two oled steam deck 1tb standard models and as I was playing some games I couldn’t help but notice when moving either the left or right sticks in any direction would cause it to make this annoying clicky sound. I thought I had defective sticks, so I open the another steam deck oled I had and it had the same issue. I guess I would like to know how common is this and is it something that will go away on it own.
From the videos I’ve seen this is how they all are
I had it on my original lcd. Kinda just goes away after a few hours of use
have this clicky sound too, but it doesn’t bother me, actually. Also, I compared it to my DualSense controllers and they also have the same sound, so I guess it is how it’s pretty normal.
What the hell, you’re right. How did I not realize this sooner with my ps5 controller?
I’ve noticed my right stick is a bit louder than the left side. It makes the sound more often and louder. I can just slightly feel it when it does it sometimes too. Is that how your units are? I’m contemplating if I should rma but from the sounds of it they will all do it and it’s not worth the hassle. We should be getting hall effect joy sticks sooner or later as an upgrade option.I have heard those sticks are much smoother and quieter.
