For months now I’ve been torn between buying a Model Y and buying one of Hyundai’s Ioniq models. Today I pulled the trigger and bought my first EV, an Ioniq 6 SEL. Overall I just felt like I was getting more car for the same price. I’m absolutely blown away at how much Hyundai has turned their brand around compared to 5 years ago. The 5 year 60k mile bumper to bumper and the 10/100k battery with two years free charging and 3 years free maintenance is what ultimately sold me. But dang if those Tesla seats aren’t the most comfortable things in the world.

It’s honestly sad if you look at his/her comment history — contributing to various Tesla and Elon specific subreddits. I am a fan of Elon’s contributions to society but I’m not in a subreddit named after him.

Furthermore, The only difference between what Elon does is say the part out loud that A LOT of people at his level of success are thinking. Mind you I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, because life just isn’t that binary. We all know he says shit that is impulsive and off the cuff. If you know anyone with Asperger’s you’ll understand it’s fairly common to blurt shit out and lack any sense of a filter. You take the good with the bad because none of us are perfect.

I’ll never understand why some people prefer to be motivated by hate than to just look for good in the world, wherever and however you see it, and live your life accordingly. You’ll (they will) feel happier and not feel compelled to write people off so quickly.

Eh I want a Model Y badly, but Elon is piece of shit that really tarnishes the brand. Any good he’s done for EVs and space travel is undercut but his active contribution to the worst parts of societal discourse. Worse, he’s a billionaire that uses his money for the memes. He’s a man child that got money from mommy and used it to invest in pre-existing companies to build his personal profile. He knows a good idea and he’s a smart marketer, and I guess he knows how to surround himself with smart people. Why not ask Elon why he’s actively motivated by hate?

Asperger’s doesn’t explain boosting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, or calling yourself a ‘free speech absolutionist’ then complaining that people don’t want to do business with your Nazi bar.
