Pictures would be a great addition if you have them
I have a seasucker rack for my ioniq 5. I fits under the floor in the back, so I always have it along if needed, but no aero losses if I don’t. I’ve used it for the canoe, and for some plywood. It works great for short trips.

The more recently updated MG5s have them (the older MG5s were style but not actually suitable for roof racks)
Audi Q4 e-tron has 'em.
Many EVs have roof racks as an option, some come standard, and some have third-party options.
They generally don’t have them because of the drag. I have a Tesla roof rack on my S. So far I’ve only used it for Christmas trees every year. 🌲
Have you noticed the drag on your efficiency?

Our Chevy Bolt EUV has roof rails, I think VW ID4 also has them.
You don’t need rails to mount a roof rack. A lot of cars don’t have rails but most (all?) have mounting points to put one on. You can see them when the doors are open. I got my polestar with an OEM roof rack I use all the time. Apparently it’s a rebranded Thule.
I think it’d be cool if the Tesla rack was offered in a design that folded back when not in use, so it wasn’t such a drag. Thinking like Subaru does on the Outback.
