I can’t help but notice how every major team has players who are all sustaining injuries( Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal…) why is there so many injuries today? Are players not getting trained enough or is it because lack of strength? I did not used to see this many injuries in the past. It seems like after a few games there would be 1 or 2 players that would be out for injury for 2 or 3 months.
Idk why people are saying there too many games in football for example in NHL (Probably the best Hockey League in the world) teams have a game every 2 week and on the field your not 22 players but 12 so that means you have more impact and you do more effort and there not 50% of any squad who is injured
Let’s blame the worldchampionship last winter.
Every single topclup had to rethink his training schedule. Never change a running system.
Yes apart from all the countries that have their season at different times to Europe
Winter World Cup last year honestly
Funny how you miss out United who have had the worst amount of injuries this season since I can ever remember. The reason is the fixture congestion just off the back of a World Cup Year in the middle of the season and also what feels and sounds like more intensive training methods
I blame the grass.
- Large amount of added time
- More games
- Games are more intense
- Lack of rotation in teams
- Younger players being pushed more
Schedule is far more intense
I wonder if part of it is players pushing themselves harder and harder and getting close to how much the human body can actually take. You see it in baseball to, these athletes are doing stuff that is insane. Part of it is the amount of games but another part is athletes pushing themselves to the absolute limit.
I’m think this is the main cause. I’m not sure players are playing significantly more games now than they did a few years ago. But I think the intensity and levels of training have brought players closer to their thresholds.
vaxxed?
There are a lot of phenomena at play here. Underlying cause is the driving force of capitalism. Expand markets, create more revenue, play more matches, more unjuries, and enough soldiers who want to take a shot at being pro.
The number of games is getting ridiculous. Last year Lech Poznań played usual 34 games in league and additional 20 in Europe (UCL Q1, UECL Q2, Q3, play-offs, Group phase, knockout phase play-offs, round of 16 and quarter-finals. You already have more than one game a week on average and I didn’t add Polish Super Cup and Polish Cup. (Plus season is shorter than exactly 52 weeks).
International breaks are put in a very weird way too. We had three of them in 3 months so you have 3-4 weeks of club games and then you have to travel to your country to play another 2-3 games in 2 weeks. Probably the same amount of games as there would be in clubs but travelling isn’t regeneration, especially for South American footballers
