Just got mine last night – what a night and day difference between the 4 month wait from the first time (and I think I got very lucky last time, putting in a late order and getting a pretty good turn-around). Overall, this is an incredible handheld. I have zero desire to even test the Rog Ally or Lenovo Legion Go. It looks great, runs the games I want well and is just simplicity personified when it comes to getting things up and running.

Still, it is not quite perfect.

I gave my old Steam Deck to my child, I’d never used Steam Family Sharing. Boy, does it suck conceptually - but I don’t think I can blame the steam deck for this, so I won’t harp on it.

One flaw that is becoming very clear to me in these first hours – the Steam Deck still won’t download while off. This is too bad, it’s taking forever to re-download my massive library, one I can pretty much keep on the deck w/ the more generous 1TB space afforded with this version.

Anyone else have any nitpicking?

Go to Desktop, disable sleep, open a 100% black picture so all the pixels are off … then go to bed?

Not even necessary. The default settings in desktop mode will dim and then shut off the screen. Once downloads finish, the Deck will sleep.
