So my car was smoking, being that I’m positive there is a leak in the coolant system as well as the check engine light being on, I feared a blown head!
Went home and lifted the hood, the radiator cap was off! I didn’t overheat, should I drive it around to make sure it’s good? Or am I screwed?
Just need this to hold through till I can afford a better car…. Thanks!!

If it didn’t overheat you’re fine. Just fill it up and properly reattach the cap

You’re fine. Top it off, if needed, with some distilled water. Put the cap back on. Keep an eye on temps.
