I’m trying to justify buying a steamdeck when I can play steam games on my laptop.

It isn’t like I travel or have some need of a portable thing. About the only justification I can make is that steam performs poorly on my linux laptop because I don’t have optimized drivers or gfx card for it.

What made you give up your money for a steamdeck?

Laptops weigh more, are more bulky and have high enough resolutions to require more powerful hardware to get similar or better results, driving prices up. And no, a $700 laptop is not worth buying for gaming.

This is entirely subjective but personally my laptop feels like an internet or productivity machine, where the steamdeck is entirely gaming, helps me to keep them seperate

Why justify a purchase? Just save!

I got mine because my laptop is a Mac, it was also kind of an impulse

hype :) It got me… and steam doesn’t even officially sell decks in my region. Just had to get my hands on one. Damnt paid collaborations!
