I went for a test drive today. I went in just wanting to test drive the cx-30. But ended up driving the cx 5 as well. I really liked the 5.

i only take my car to the train station and drive on weekends. The price difference between the 30 and 5 isn’t that large. I am concerned about the width difference. My current car is a 2006 corolla. The cx 30 is 4 inches wider. The 5 is 6 inches. Some of the parking spots are narrow. Am i over thinking this? I’m used to driving a sedan. So I don’t want to get something that will be too big for me.

Cx-30 has a more refined drive, interior is a lot nicer than the CX-5 and over all more fun to drive, only reason to consider a CX-5 over the 30 is if you need the extra space

I’m not sure I agree with that. The independent rear suspension on the CX5 beats the torsion beam for the ride. I was actually surprised by how happy I was to be back in my CX5 when I had a CX3O loaner, and not even because of the size. The ride and handling on the 5 are nicer IMO.

The CX-5 has more body roll and a higher seating position. You sit low in the 30, with its high beltline and center console. The torsion beam really only makes itself known over rough/settled road, and yes, you do feel it. The other 95% of the time, you don’t.
