    This discussion is stupid, especially the people whining about markups. Markups aren’t a problem. If dealerships can’t keep cars in stock at MSRP, why should they sell at msrp? By the way, the “S” in MSRP stands for “suggested.” Not mandatory, not required, not market … suggested. A car is worth what the market deems the car is worth. Which means that if you want to pay MSRP and the dealer knows they can get more, why should they sell to you?

    Before anyone complains about capitalism (this is reddit after all), the Type R is a luxury item. Want to pay MSRP or below, get the base model Civic or the 30 other cars and trucks that don’t have extraordinary demand and lack of supply. You can buy anything from Jeep to BMW for MSRP or less, just by walking into the dealership.
