My new LE OLED Deck has a few red sub-pixels that are dead, and I’ve seen reports around this sub of others with similar issues. It almost seems like it is being mentioned more for specific models. So, I’m curious…. If you got a new Steam Deck OLED what model did you get and how is your screen?
If you haven’t checked and don’t know how it is pretty easy. Just go to desktop mode, install and open Firefox, then go to this website to check:
LE edition here. Dead pixel in the center of my screen. It’s very distracting. I’ve launched an RMA.
Crazy it’s all LE editions with BOE Panels having this issue…or at least a HEAVY majority. Yet another reason I’m happy I went 512 Glossy :D
How does valve deal with this? Do they make you send it back before replacing it?
I haven’t got a response yet. I just submitted it last night.
That’s generally how RMA works for any device
But valve CS isn’t like ordinary CS.
So u think they’ll be sending out steam decks before they get the faulty one? Wouldn’t that open them up to fraud?
Usually companies put a hold on your credit card when cross-shipping a replacement, which gets removed once they receive the returned device.
That kind of implies your product isn’t broken and need an rma though.
I’m afraid almost every single LE OLED has a dead pixel. Jeez
The really real LE is getting one without any stuck pixels it seems.
