I’ve been trying to remove the driveshaft and can’t break the bolts free, so i’m planning on getting an impact wrench tomorrow. It’s an f-150 with 12 point bolts. I have a 12 point socket but its not an impact socket. and i can’t find 12 point impact sockets anywhere near me. So can i use the regular socket? is there a risk i will strip the bolts or just a risk i will ruin the socket?

It works until it doesn’t. Maybe it just cracks and you notice it, maybe it explodes when you give it the beans. I remember seeing something about it incurring additional wear on the impact wrench as well but I’ll be damned if I can find that.
