Need some help diagnosing a squeaky bearing.
Car is a Mitsubishi Pajero with a 6G72 3.0 V6
I can only hear it decelerating and at 2,300-2,700rpm and it’s driving me nuts.
Is there a trick to finding which one it would be?

The absolute best/easiest way is to use an infrared camera. The pulley squeaking will show up much hotter then the rest. You could also try running it without a belt to make sure it is related to a belt driven pulley. I had a 96 montero with the 3.0. Awesome vehicle, absolutely loved that thing!
Yeah they’re great! Little truck goes anywhere. Thanks, I’ll try and get my hands on an IR camera.
I meant thermal image camera. Maybe you got what I meant anyways.
