Recently bought a c4 corvette cause it seemed like an underrated performance car with a good bang for your buck value. Thing is I’m used to driving an economy car. What are some tips for a rwd and relative high power car? I’m coming from a hybrid econobox so yes it’s vastly different.
depending on the year of your C4 corvette it will have between 205 and 300hp
I assume since you got a good bang for your buck, it wasn’t a later model with 300hp since I’d assume those fetch a premium, so you are probably looking at a 245hp car.
now that car is 35 years old, so a lot of those ponies left the barn by this point. And again, good bang for your buck probably meant it wasn’t the most well maintained.
So you are probably sitting on a whopping 200hp at this point.
So that’s 200hp at 3250 pounds…for comparison purposes the BRZ has 228hp at 2815 pounds and is considered a dog by pretty much everyone
In other words, if your tires were built in the last 10 years, you’ll probably have trouble even breaking traction in the rain
It also has V8 torque and a torque converter automatic gearbox. It is probably much more competent than a 86/BRZ
It’s a 88 so your right about the power but it was a 2 owner car in mint condition …… just cause you’re salty that you can’t get a good deal doesn’t mean you need to downplay someone’s purchase. Either contribute to the question or keep your opinions to yourself.
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. The C4 is not underrated, it is purposely ignored because the C5 is light years ahead in terms of performance. The C4 Corvette is a bargain because it is so disappointing. At least with the C3 you can get a classic looking car.
