Got vibrance on boosted + standard 7500K temp
what game is that
Agreed, and a free improvement is always welcome. I’ll probably get an OLED in the new year, but this update has for now helped me resist the urge to spend money I don’t have!
This update has ruined my deck because it doesn’t recognize my micro SD card. Either way, I’m going to wait for a new update that I hope will fix this issue.
To avoid the reboot problem, go into Desktop mode and enter : sudo rauc status mark-active booted
Where do i put this? In the konsole?
I am shocked at how decent it looks now next to my oled deck that just arrived
Honestly, that’s what I’m saying. I’m interested in the OLED version but I don’t care that much. I’d rather wait for the real upgrade whenever Steam Deck 2 comes out.
Yeah I completely get that. I missed the first batch so can’t wait to get an OLED now
When the Steam Deck 2 comes out I’m going to give my old one to my son. It’s not worth upgrading at this point.
That really looks great
ALPHA 3 MAX STAN 🙌🏻
Alpha 3 max?! This is a person of culture.
Also does vibrant deck work with 3.5? It doesnt work for me.
Oled is fantastic and i have multiple device with oled screens (asus 120hz oled laptop, zfold 3 also 120hz ,galaxy watch 4) but not once i looked at my steam deck screen and said : Damn i wish my screen was an oled not once . The 3.5 saturation slider is a nice addition and i have mine set 2 notch past the middle .To bad they didn’t upgrade the "new’’ base model with a lcd 90hz screen .
There’s a plugin that makes the lcd deck goes up to 70hz.
I’ve been looking for a before and after pictures for the LCD Deck before 3.5 update and after 3.5 update for the colors but haven’t found any, anyone have?
I think it looked a lot better with Vibrant Deck and I was able to manage screen colours for each games, so I decided to downgrade to the previous update.
👁️👁️ Hot damn!
Finally a post the makes me feel happy with my LCD deck.
Look, the OLED is nice, but the Steam Deck overall (LCD version) is amazing.
I was looking at my oled vs lcd last night and the difference is surprisingly subtle in my opinion. Blacks of course are the most significant difference. But I think the additional bonus of being a bit lighter, better battery, 90hz, better click on the trackpads, etc still make the upgrade worth it for me. If I had been able to compare before ordering I may not have bothered upgrading to be honest. It’s really not as big of a deal as people make it out to be
Glad you like it.
Colours were always adequate on the Steam Deck with a few tweaks. This update just allows further saturation of the screen natively in the OS. It’s the ghosting and horrible contrast that makes it a trash panel in 2023. I’m glad this subreddit is willing to admit this now that an improved version is out.
