I upgraded to a 6950xt to play at 4k above 60fps and it works great. Couldn’t be happier. Even ray trace in most games, except a few of the heavy hitters.
Yeah. The only games where it falls down a bit in RT are the NVIDIA sponsored games. Most games are fine though with average performance not far off the 3080 (~10% or so).
The 6950 XT is faster than the 3080 except (usually) with hardware RT enabled, not slower. The extra vram is also a significant advantage, though that will probably become more relevant over the next few years, and isn’t a significant advantage yet except in some fairly rare situations.
