We have a 22 RAV4 (40k miles). We’ve only serviced at a Toyota dealership (we were told that it’s better for warranty/resale)
We had an issue at 10k with the tires. Went to get 10k service, left with wonky feeling with driving. But the inspection was perfect. Took it back, turns out when they rotated the tires, the inside of two tires were messed up, and they put them on the opposite two wheels and it was obvious with driving.
Dealership was very apologetic for 1. Not catching it and 2. Obv. lying on the inspection. Dealership got New service management.
All of our inspections have been perfect still. There’s some squeaking on the breaks and now a weird noise when turning on a road that isn’t level (pulling onto a street that is lower/higher). So a somewhat weird noise.
I asked the dealership at my most recent service, but they said everything was fine and the inspection was still fine.
I don’t want to overlook it, but I also don’t want to make it into something if it’s normal at 40k now. I also am worried that if something is/was wrong and we missed the warranty by mileage.
This is also the only Toyota dealership within 1 hour, and we would have to drive 2 hours for service if we switch.
Anyone experience this? Any advice?
They told me my brakes needed to be replaced. Still going strong over a year later.
