The dealer should remove any digit from the 4 figure quote and maybe it’s worth getting it done for the 3 figure quote. Run away from the dealer, it’s hard to imagine a 2016 needing a new brake caliper that soon.

Almost 3k for brake calipers and a bleed?!? Leave that shop and never look back, there no way a 2016 with less than 200k absolutely needs new calipers.

Besides what everyone else said, they are charging for a brake fluid exchange on top of replacing calipers? Usually your putting fresh fluid and bleeding anyway when replacing them. Run fast from this place.

The rest is okish, but that caliper price, JFC. A front caliper on my BMW would be cheaper than that, and it’s a 4-piston monobloc. The part is like $500, and replacing it is less than 2hrs for me, and I’m just a shade tree mechanic. I’d bet a BMW dealer would come in under $1.5k for that job.

These people are horrible thieves don’t do business with car dealers most of them mark up ridiculous that brake job shouldn’t be more than $900 I do my own Auto Repair honestly it’s like $350 in parts. Change your fluids transmission fluid brake fluid oil and filter transmission fluid and filter maybe the hoses and belts possibly your coolant find somebody honest to do it for you the whole thing shouldn’t cost you more than $700

Bud you could buy new pads rotors and 2 new calipers watch a YouTube video and do it your self. If you can follow the instructions to make Mac and cheese you can Probably replace the brakes on a Santa Fe. Probably $400 worth of parts and might need to get a few tools but it is a Saturday morning type of job and your woman will never look at you the same way again if you can complete the task. $2500 for 2 new calipers I would call the BBB

Woah wtf is that caliper price. A caliper cost 180 at minimum. Most car calipers are 120$ - 240$ Labor is like 70$ just for 1 side. FIRST OF ALL YOU GOT RIPPED OFF BADD ITS LIKE 6 SCREWS AND A BREAKER BAR AND A HANGAR WITH A YOUTUBE VIDEO ALL YOU NEED IS A Jack 20 for a bottle jack And Jack stand 25$ Breaker bar 25-20$ The caliper 180 Tool set socket sizes 125 pieces/different sizes for 80$ or if you go to harbor freight get a chrome set for cheaper like 50$ for 120 different sizes box.

Your time. A YouTube video guide on same year and model of car/ generation of model that’s the same. And a caliper OEM push in tool A set of pliers the have a lock grip 5$ And that’s about it.

Brake grease 11$ cnr brand (preferred) and silicone grease if you want to go that far, not being extra. At the car places, mode don’t care and don’t even put anti size to make your stuff last longer And anti seize 11$ any brand will do

In total you can buy the tools and do it yourself with free online instructions for about 200$ and buy the part which will be around 180 so like 400$ is what at most it should have cost you for 1 caliper. Your self. Next time you only need to buy the caliper and take everything apart and spend 200$ for each caliper. Depending on the cost. That’s the formula though Excluding drum rotors.

I feel there has been a serious disconnect between the service writer and the tech with the front caliper replacement quote. If you were to do any of this work I would ask to see what application/website they are using for estimates. If they are not using something like ProDemand I would absolutely decline all non warranty work and never go back

I never have a dealership fix my cars offsets, ford charged me $600 to change the brakes on my mustang, I got all the parts and did them myself for only $110, what a ripoff, but most dealerships do the job right, theyre just overpriced

Replacing 1 tire and doing no alignment work, I’d question that to start… Why that tire unless it’s sidewall or otherwise damaged? So much mark up here and some flags.

Find yourself a good local mechanic… Or a decent dealer.

Learn to do it yourself. If you need a cheap mechanic and are in Houston. DM me and I’ll give you his address. I used to be a mechanic too.
