It looks so good! Argh, ordered mine at +45 minutes last Thursday due to website problems, and it has shipped, but not due to arrive until Saturday Nov 25.

I just love the fact the new Oled version have grippier thumbsticks. Putting thumbstick covers over the thumbsticks on the old one prevents you from using gyro

To vaguely quote Skill Up: “if you told me this was 30g lighter, I wouldn’t believe you. The weight difference is immediately noticeable and makes the steam deck easier to handle”

I just received the LE and the weight difference is VERY noticeable. The LCD feels like a brick in comparison. Weighs a little bit more than the Switch.

My le is supposed to be here tomorrow. Interesting the steam button is so faded like that. Didn’t expect that change.

The OLED is really the definitive version of the Deck. While performance gains are only about 2-10% ish due to the faster memory, the screen is amazing (and larger!) and I’m surprised at how much cooler and quieter it is.

The LCD deck gets really hot and is kind of loud in comparison. Battery life is also awesome, about 3-5 hours for the games I like to play (AAA)

I’m very impressed with the difference as well. Text based games that used to suffer from small text are much easier to read and it’s nice to have a little bit more room because of the smaller bezels. Even rpg maker games are more fun to play because the colors pop and the screen panning are much easier on the eyes due to the faster display.

I also want to mention that I’m using the etched glass until I get my screen protector shipped and the experience is fantastic. I much prefer matte finishes on my displays and I have used them for most of my life, but the etched glass is on a different level. I don’t notice that “rainbow” effect that you see even on good matte coatings on computer monitors while still getting the benefit of that diffused light when there is a bright light source nearby. I don’t doubt that the glossy version has higher contrast as we have seen so far, but that doesn’t make the etched screen any less impressive. You still get much better contrast, faster response time, while not suffering from IPS glow, VA panel black crush/smearing, and TN’s lower capacity for colors and viewing angles. The only question you have to ask yourself is if you just simply hate matte finishes.
