Hey I am a student who wants to buy a bmw and have no knowledge of cars whatsoever. I am prob gonna buy an older 3 series around 10k and wanted to know the pros and cons from experts how much I am expected to spend on repairs and just overall if this is a good idea. Please let me know and I know this is generic but any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Do not do it, it will steal your money, social life and make you hate the car. The fact that it’s listed on Facebook Marketplace is the first red flag. The second is that you’ll fail to spend $200 on a PPI and the third is the previous owner likely failed to do basic maintenance and will likely leave you stranded.
