New Class family from a size 2 up to an X7 says Frank Weber. I see a lot of angry comments over the one pictured, but this is a whole variable class of vehicles on the platform. Frank Weber was one of the chief project managers of the propulsion architecture of the Chevy Volt and the BMW i3. He’s gone on to do bigger executive type things but I’m rooting for a successful roll-out of a whole class of vehicles. Hopefully BMW moves in the right direction.

Looks good, the new corporate face seems like it could be step in the right direction and a nice throwback too, even when covered in cladding (which is saying something).

This looks great! Kidneys are back to “normal”. Headlights don’t have divorced DRL. Taillights don’t have brake/turn signals way down in the bottom of the bumper. The shape plus kink make it easily recognizable as an X3. I do wonder if they gave it a frunk with that big of hood, or if it’s just sacrificing space for traditional style.

It’s a compact crossover, so of course it’s going to have bland proportions. It’s a lowest denominator car, by design. As for the details: All of them are obfuscated, so it’s not like you can tell anything about them yet.

I have a 2023 X3 M40i and it’s really the perfect SUV. Spacious, handles great and ultra quick.

I’d buy an electric version in a heartbeat.
