Before you say “You shouldn’t have done that” Or “Dummy”, I really like the car, it’s different just like me. The car I speak of is a Mini Cooper S 2005, 120k showing. Everything works, windows, cruise, ect., great tires, run flats. The thing just stopped running at a gas station, just one hour after I signed the papers. The car is mine free and clear, but I have not seen that car since that night, a month+ ago now. The car lot I bought the Mini from, has had it in and out of its own shop and a “Mini” shop several times now. To get too the point…I will need and MUST learn how too work on the thing myself, when and IF I ever drive it again. If anyone has any real advice on the 05Mini Cooper S, please reply and I’ll look you up at a later date. Thanks and God Bless!!

That’s the n18, unless it’s a JCW then it’s an n14. I’m sorry but your engine is trash over the W11 engine in a 2005… except it overheats like shit

Oh yeah no very different problems in both. W10/11 both suffer with overheating which by extension means head gaskets. The whole cooling system is an issue primarily on a r53 due to the supercharger, and if you have a Midlands (2001-2004 r50’s)/cvt gearbox you chew threw clutches, howevef the getrag is a resilient clutch in the cooper s (2001-2006 and the r50 2005-2006) it doesn’t have any major issues compared to the r56 after that, but suffers from age related niggles.
