After the update, when I make or receive a call, the screen goes white then has a popup that says “Phone keeps stopping”, “Call keeps stopping”, or “CallBGprovider keeps stopping.”

I was able to install the google phone app, so I can make and receive calls now, but I would like to use the samsung one. Anyone know of an easy fix. I already cleared the cache of Phone, Calls, and CallBGprovider and it didn’t fix it.

My s22+ did the same after ui 6 update. After a new SD card and a week later, still same problem (not registered on network). It was 100% on ATT’s end not Samsung, as ATT tried to state. 1.5 hrs later on the phone with an ATT tech, he finally fixed it. Start off by saying you already put a new SD card in to save a week of troubles. DO NOT reset network settings or factory reset, neither of these options worked. Hope this helps y’all some troubles

I’ve been following along and trying everything mentioned short of full factory reset. In the Samsung community thread, someone just posted a bit ago about the “Secure Folder” app. Disabling the “Secure Folder” app seems to have actually worked. I have an S22 on AT&T. There was not initially an option to disable the app when I first looked, but somewhere from the settings/apps list I was able to find a way to disable it (I cleared cache/date, etc. too). I took out the sim turned off the phone, replaced sim and turned on and now it works. I have taken the sim out several other times trying other suggested fixes too, so not sure this added anything. I have previously removed ATT Call Protect, cleared cache from the boot menu, etc.

Same issue, factory reset is NOT an option. Nothing has worked yet, and the workaround doesn’t prevent the crash messages.

My boyfriend has the S23 Ultra and he didn’t get an update since his phone already had the new stuff on it. His phone is working

My s23 has the issue and no suggestion I’ve seen so far is working. Google phone app even crashes. My phone is basically a storage device with internet right now.

Seems like they pulled the update? My AT&T S22U says no updates available. Guess I’m lucky after reading this. Didn’t they beta test phone calls? Seems very odd…

I had to reset my phone back to factory then restore from the last backup to get the phone to stop crashing. Huge PITA!

I only lost 12 hours of texting. Will have to reload my music. 🤬
