I think Euro is harder because there are more high-level teams that can challenge for the title. On average, the level of the teams that make it past the group stage is higher (in my opinion).

What do you guys think?

Keep it civil please :)

Euro is harder but the SA qualifiers are harder than the euro qualifiers regarding the WC. This should be common knowledge

Since Germany in 86 Argentina didn’t manage to win over a top European team in WC in 90 minutes. 1 if u count Croatia.

In the last WC even with the help of the refs they didn’t manage to win over France and The Netherlands.

So here is your answer. Only Brazil could have won a Euro.

The Euro is basically a mini World Cup. The CA is great and all but no qualifying aspect means that the same teams get to play each tournament. The Euros are far more competitive.

Clearly Euro, there are only 10 teams in S.America so there isn’t a qualification. The schedule of the tournament made it less prestigious. Between 2011-2021, there were 5 Copa America btw

    Euro has:

    England

    Spain

    Italy

    Croatia

    Netherlands

    Portugal

    France

    Germany

    Belgium

    Croatia

    Copa america has:

    Brazil

    Argentina

    Chile

    Uruguay

    Not close.

Not to mention for a while they held copa america every other year. So there are way more opportunities.

Honestly copa america is easier than the nations league.

Usually Euro is harder. There was a period around 2014-16 where you could argue that Copa America was just as competitive (if not more competitive). Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil could all genuinely compete with the best of Europe at that time. Uruguay still had Suarez, Cavani in their primes too so they were also dangerous.

I also feel like Europe were particularly weaker in that time (besides Germany, Belgium and France). Spain in decline after golden generation, England transitioning to younger generation, Italy kinda in shambles, Portugal was just Ronaldo and Friends, Netherlands weren’t really anything special either.

WC 2014 showed this as well. South Americans basically knocked eachother out and Germany did the rest.
