Canada has a 15 year import rule, instead of the USs 25, and I’m thinking of importing my next car. I like weird stuff that you don’t see all the time, and jdm cars are decently popular around here. What is something that is cheap in its home market, but super rare in North America?
Right now, I’m thinking about a Mahindra Thar, but I could also be really happy with an Opel Tigra
1988 Ford Fiesta. I owned one for 2 years when I was stationed in Spain, it was a fun little car. 1.1 liter engine, 5 speed manual!
I just want a god damn mini truck. Repeal the fucking chicken tax.
Repealing the chicken tax wouldn’t necessarily bring in minitrucks immediately: they’d also have to meet emissions and safety regs. And many former “mini” trucks aren’t mini anymore either.
Civic Type R with K20 engine, preferably hatch over sedan
Delica
Scooda Yeti
Mitsubishi L200 crew cab. I’d 4g63 turbo swap that rascal and love every second.
Toyota Hilux and I wish Mazda would bring back the damn 6
Toyota Chaser or Mark 2. I used to own a Cressida, and started to really appreciate the car near the end of its life. Wanted a Chaser/Mark2 because it was lighter with the 2JZ
Abarth 595
I’ve been thinking of this. In 2 years I’ll be able to import a N55 powered E90 335i wagon. Must resist…
A basic spec E46 3-series with a 5-speed and around 200hp would be fun
Anything that Holden made. I guess we got the GTO and G8 but those were just a tease
2021 bmw m3 touring
GR Yaris.
If prices are good in a few years I’ll stash one with a friend in Europe for later import.
Im no sport enthusiast, Honda beat, Honda s660, Toyota Sera. I wish there were more 2 seater cars.
