Mods please do not filter this as “OLED mega thread”, that’s basically everybody begging for shipping updates.

I’m just a little disappointed that Tetris Effect especially isn’t working in HDR mode, even though the panel itself is a huge upgrade already. For comparison, I have tried Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes and both HDR modes activated with the little HDR badge in SteamOS as well.

    I’m having the same issue, HDR worked great on Ori, but doesn’t turn on for Tetris Effect. I don’t see an HDR toggle within the game, either.

          I’m in the same situation lol. I hear the HDR might only be supported in the Steam version on the Deck unfortunately. Hopefully this gets addressed.

          The HDR mode is activated as you can toggle it on, if HDR is not working you won’t be able to toggle the HDR. The problem is that the default HDR setting sucks, go to brightness settings page, there are 3 sliders, move the 2nd slider which says brightness to around 550 will make it look much better

          Is the HDR icon showing up in the SteamOS overlay? I still haven’t tried it on the Deck yet, but Diablo 4’s HDR implementation always looked kind of bad on my OLED TV.

    Bit late to this thread, but I just figured out how to get HDR working in Tetris Effect. Here’s a guide on how to do it:

    1. Switch to Desktop Mode
    • Right-click on Tetris Effect in the Steam Library view, and select “Manage -> Browse Local Files”
    • Navigate to "\TetrisEffect\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor"
    • Open “GameUserSettings.ini”
    • Near the bottom, find “bUseHDRDisplayOutput” and set its value to “True” (first letter is uppercase).
    • Save those changes.
    • Navigate to "\TetrisEffect\Saved\SaveGames\[bunch of numbers]"
    • Open “CONF.json”
    • Within the section “config2D”, change the “HDR” key value to “true” (first letter is lowercase)
    • Save those changes.
    • Inside Steam, set the launch parameters for Tetris to the following: PROTON_ENABLE_AMD_AGS=1 %command% -d3d12
    • Launch from Game Mode

    Success --> https://imgur.com/a/AHbOPAs

      Actually, just found another thread that has a way easier method that doesn’t require editing any of the “.ini” files.

      All you need to do is use the following launch parameters:

      SteamDeck=0 %command% -dx12

      Using this will make the HDR setting show up in the graphics config menu which is much more convenient.
