I was just watching videos of Zidane in the 2006 World Cup and the composure of him and the vision and dribbling was superb. Just to think is there any players that currently plays like him now ? I think the closest was Pogba

I don’t see how Pogba is similar to Zidane, Pogba never had that elegance, not even close. Juan Carlos Valeron and Iniesta had the zidanelike elegance, in some ways Busquets also. From current players it’s Pedri.
Young Juve Pogba had that elegance and was compared to him back then. Sadly, it went downhill after that

He’s not playing anymore but the one player that was hailed as the new Zidane was Yoann Gourcuff. He scored a really “Zidane” goal vs PSG in the 2008/09 season

Currently, probably Modric. Although he does more defensive work and I don’t think he’s as good at shooting. In terms of flair, inventiveness and running the game he comes closest atm.
