I’ve just recently rebuilt my 2TRFE engine & got rid of 99.9 % of the gremlins that were causing it headaches…but it still has 1 gremlin I need to eliminate in the ultimate BOSS fight. So driving the vehicle (TRH223Hiace) it’s fine & is currently being ran in. So every now & then when idling it has the little red oil can light flash then disappears. Also does it when in a nose down park (my driveway is steep) I dropped the oil @ 100km & refilled with Castrol 5W/30 full synthetic oil & changed the filter thinking it’s run in oil may be to thick (Penrite 15/40 mineral oil) but it did it again. The oil pressure switch & oil pump is new… I’m hoping someone out there may have some info on killing this gremlin

With more and more parts being made in china, its not uncommon to have a new part fail or be out of spec right from the box.

Try another brand of oil pressure sensor. Also double check any grounds in the same circuit of the sensor to make sure they are solid with no weak or broken wires. Dont use common anti seize on ground bolts, unless it is silver or copper.

Grab an old-fashioned mechanical oil pressure gauge and a T fitting and hook it up so you know you have good pressure before something bad happens to your new rebuild.

    Update…

I had a dodgy plug on the oil pressure switch. I bought an oil pressure test kit & all the Toyota specs resembled what was on the gauge thankfully. Thanks for everyone’s input
