Hi all! Apologies ahead of time if this post is not relevant. I figured a group with mechanics might have some insight into this, but please advise where I should post this if this sub is not relevant.
I’m seeking advice regarding what mechanic shops charge in labor when a part they previously installed is bad and needs to be replaced. As an example, I’ve been taking my car to Meineke, and every couple months the part they replace goes bad. Most of the time they don’t charge me for the part, but they always charge me for the labor which is usually more expensive.
I’m reading now on the back of my receipts that Meineke warranty is 12 months or 12,000miles. The Meineke shop I went to said this only covers the part not the labor. Is this true and/or common? Any advice welcome and appreciated!
what exactly does their paperwork say? does it say part only or does it say parts and labor?
