I took the dive and got a steamdeck. I’m not a pc gamer, not a tinker in general.

I used to have steam on my Mac but after one of the upgrades half my library became unusable and I’ve not returned since. (Been years)

Anyway, any tips and or suggestions for the steamdeck?

I’m looking forward to some of those pc exclusive titles I’ve never had a chance to play. But blanking on most of them.

Even though I don’t tinker the idea of gamepass on it seems extremely appealing.

For the love of Gaben, search for questions. It’s here, just tucked away.

My best tip would be ignore internet lists and videos about “essential tweaks”, just install your games and play. Unless you want to install non-steam games/emulators or save battery you don’t need to tweak anything.

The only actual tip that works most of the time for me is that on super light pixel art games like WarGroove you can lock your GPU to 200mhz or 300mhz and that will save you some watts because for some reason the gpu scaling governor will prefer to stay at like 800mhz for no reason even though the gpu use is around 40%.
