2021 Sierra 5.3L V8 8 Speed, 56k miles. I had the transmission fluid and transmission filter swapped out at 48k miles in June by a Chevy dealer.
Lately while driving at highway-ish speed (40+ mph) with low power input, I have an intermittent feeling like I’m going over a rumble strip. The vibration will always be about 1500 RPM and go away if I let off power or accelerate. It’s not severe but I don’t think I’ve noticed it in the 2+ years I have had the vehicle.
Also, when coming to a stop I can feel the transmission shifting down pretty aggressively. The faster I stop the harder the shifts.
So, is this something to be concerned about and if so, what action can I take?
You got torque converter shudder. I’ve worked on a few used gm trucks and they did this, guess it’s a known issue. First step would be to drain and refill the transmission if that Dosent work you’ll need a new torque converter
Thanks. Is this warranty work or would I be out of pocket for the fluid swap?
Absolutely a warranty thing, when you bring it to the dealer be very specific with when it happens / mention possible torque converter shudder as its hard to reproduce unless you know what to look for / do
