So I live in an apartment complex currently, and I bought a tune for my audi Q5. I also just bought a battery charger since I don’t want to risk messing up my ECU.

I for some reason figured I’d be able to charge the battery charger, unplug it after some time, then just use it portably. I was wrong. It needs to be plugged in to use.

So if you were in my shoes, where would you flash your ECU? Are there known places that have power outlets near places to park?

you need to have your battery on a trickle charger to flash a tune?

I’m out of the loop since I’m running aftermarket ecu on a pre obd2 car … it doesn’t have such a requirement

It’s recommended since it can take some time to flash the ECU, and if the battery drops too low in that time you sit with the ignition on, but not running, it can brick the ECU.
