I’m not very mechanically inclined and just recently bought an ‘03 Silverado 1500 (mostly for a fun/beater vehicle but also a project vehicle I can learn by working on).
The battery was going bad and I replaced it yesterday and at the same time the heater stopped working. The coolant lines into the cab feel warm/hot to the touch, so I think it’s an electronic issue with the heater fan or something (getting out of my depth with this analysis).
Any advice on what the issue would be? Would replacing the battery break any of the electronics?
Thank you in advance, I’ll likely be back with many questions.
If the fan isn’t working it’s usually the fan resistor.
Probably blend door actuator. You could also reset the climate control module by unplugging it, works a lot of the time. Google climate control module removal. It’s pretty easy, probably the easiest test.
