I’m trying to rebuild my carburetor for the first time, but there are one-way screws that I don’t know how to undo. I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to unscrew them because the plate they are holding down has a gasket and my rebuild kit has that same gasket. I just can’t undo the screws to replace said gasket. Any advice is appreciated.
some carb rebuilders don’t want anybody in that cavity…
there are 2 adjustments that are critical in there…
the accelerator pump height adjustment and the metering rod lifter adjustment…
i am hoping you did not soak that part in carb dip… as that will destroy the plastic pieces inside…

as for getting the one way screws out…
do you have a flat screwdriver… how is the end of the screwdriver… you can sharpen it flat… so it digs into the ramp of the screws…
you can also sharpen it like a flat left handed drill… so it has a sharp edge that will dig into those ramps… sometimes you can use a sharp chisel to make a mark to allow the screwdriver to catch…
