We’re all in r/PremierLeague… remind me again which organisation has the sole power to veto sponsorships or block takeovers?

Yet the fans who actually have no power to do anything just give them a pass and instead point fingers at each other and use horrific human rights abuses purely for the purpose of petty points scoring in football rivalries. While continuing to lap up the product from the group actually profiting from all of this.

Maybe if we aimed all started aiming our content at the Premier League they might have to start thinking twice about letting any old dodgy money into the sport.

Not trying to throw shade at Arsenal but are we suprised? Supposedly the whole Ozil stuff was because of his stance with what the Chinese are doing to the Uighur Muslims. Not sure if this was ever confirmed but it still is discussed somewhat from time to time.

Let’s be honest no club would really cancel a large sponsorship deal. They only get involved in political issues when it suits the clubs and their image. This isn’t direct at Arsenal before fans get on my back, talking about ALL clubs

Meh. Its not like Arsenal is being funded and run by Rwanda government bodies. They can change to another and also better sponsor. Not much of issue

This is such nonsense. You can cite the problems with Arsenals sleeve sponsor, though I’d bet the poster would struggle to actually articulate what they are. But equating a sponsorship from a country’s tourist board for a football team to the UKs illegal and heartless policy to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda is pathetic.

Really, what Arsenal and all clubs should worry about from this ruling is trying to find a way to annex themselves from the UK if you find this problematic.

Oh shocker, posted by a Newcastle flair. We’ve been in your head rent free for so long now that we must qualify for squatters rights. You got the 3 points. Cheer up

So we’re not in any doubt. Arsenal may be sponsored by an airline from UAE. They may have a sponsorship with the Rwanda tourist board. Newcastle are owned by a regime, that in September, executed the 100th person this year as capital punishment. When all you Geordies were celebrating a return to the CL at the end of last season, loving your owners, the same regime was executing 7 18 year olds for ‘crimes’ committed when they were children. One was 12 when they committed the egregious crime of protesting the regime.

And here Newcastle fans are, point scoring over shirt sponsorships. Cant even be as brave as a 12 year old. Pathetic and shameless.

I am a United fan but OP here is just clutching on straws to justify their ownership. Looks like Arsenal is living rent free in your head and i am not surprised a Newcastle fan is coming out calling Arsenal “hypocrite” when your ownership itself is a hypocrisy issue. Arsenal were in the first division even as far as my granddad goes and they are embodiment of British football just like United unlike a division 2 scrap club climbing ladders using Oil money funded from human abusive states. Downvoting this post as OP is rattling up the Arsenal fans to farm karma. Such an embarrassment of a club and a fanbase really pathetic.

Hello fellow Premier League product enjoyer

Are you aware of the only group who held the power to block state takeovers of clubs or veto dodgy sponsorships?

Are you also aware of who the 5 clubs are that forced a breakaway from the Football League to create the Premier League so that they could profit over anything else?

I’m a Tottenham fan. The entire country of Rwanda should not be punished because of Sunak’s deranged refugee policy. Refugees should not be forcefully shipped to Rwanda. Those with the means should visit Rwanda - it is a beautiful country with an incredible story. Two things can be true.

Promoting and boosting development in a country isn’t equal to being owned by a government btw.

Newcastle fan trying to justify their clubs owners. Sad day

Well by your logic the emirates or fly emirates which is a shirt sponsor for Arsenal should also be criticised right? If then our historical FA Cup which is now being sponsored by the Emirates is called the Emirates FA Cup should also be banned right? I don’t see anyone criticising it or questioning it whereas you Newcastle oil fcks criticize a shirt sponsor. Then in your minds you lot must be against the FA equivalent to the British government equivalent to you being anti-national. Absolute Embarrassment the fanbase of Newcastle has become

This sub is r/PremierLeague… who do you think allowed the Newcastle and Man City takeovers to go through? Who were the only group with any actual power to stop it from happening? Who has the sole power to veto Arsenal being sponsored by Rwanda?

      Yet we’re all still here…
