To me being not as smart as most of you guys I rely on my eye test, and neither Kai nor Viera passes that unfortunately

He’s been poor. This makes it even clearer. It’s not working. I think his problems are mental.

I think he needs some goals to gain some confidence. He should smash it from distance a bit rather than tamely snatch at the ball in front of goal.

Might be worth us trying him at CF rather than in midfield.

To me, we could put someone like tomiyasu in that position and he would do more than havertz. When you think about that it really kinda shows how awful of a signing he is

I have severe second hand embarrassment every time he plays a game. It’s quite impressive how he has managed to get worse year on year throughout his career. By the end of his contract here he probably won’t even be able to kick the ball at all.

It would be interesting to see this graph of another player who is performing better. I don’t know how many of these things a player should be getting

Other than gabriel jesus he’s the only attacker who can challenge centre half in the air for long balls. And he’s probably our most physical attacker. He lacks speed, and vision which slows the game. Maybe one day he will show what he can really do. Give him a year

Genuinely embarrassing, yet people will still try to gaslight others into thinking the performances have been “promising”. He’s not good enough and the signing is a mistake, PERIOD.

I have no idea if my observation is right or not. BUT. It feels like every time Havertz gets the ball his back is against the goal. Always the wrong way. And the time it takes him to face the goal he’s already lost the ball, or passed it backwards.

    0 progressive play from him.

He has all the skill set to become a great player, but he looks so lost…

Your observation is correct. When teams sit deep, our LCM and RCM have to play between the lines waiting for passes in the pocket. The play is started by our 6 or inverted back. Kai should be receiving on the half-turn but he doesn’t have the habit built in because he played for so long as the 9 so he receives with his back facing the goal he wants to attack.

Havertz joined a disfunctional Chelsea team that just replaced Sarri with Lampard. When they finally had the good sense to replace Lampard with Tuchel so they can actually win something, they shit themselves up by firing Tuchel and replacing him with poor Potter. They soon regretted and turned to Lampard II: Electric Boogaloo. This was just in like 2 or 3 years. Havertz saw some shit. He needs psychotherapy
