      Was one of the very best cbs in the prem at the time tbf, just very unfortunate with injuries.

          Yeah then I’m sure he came back for a couple games and got a horrible injury, absolutely horrendous start.

      To be fair, Woodgate was a sensible bet at the time for a team that needed defenders. Flopped horrendously, though

        His career nosedived due to injuries, but still managed to bag us the league cup against Chelsea in 08

      IIRC when Leeds signed Rio Ferdinand there was a lot of fans, pundits, press that thought Woodgate was the better defender for much of their partnership. When Woodgate was in top form he was a very classy CB. Unfortunately the injuries ruined him.
