Jadon Sancho’s net cost to Man Utd might be worse than you think…
I was surprised when I saw this data online… Can anyone fact-check?
Assumptions:
- He does not make another appearance for Man Utd.
- He will be sold three years after being signed - 1.7.2024.
- His wages are £350k as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
TL/DL:
- If he is released after three years, he will have cost Man Utd over £100mil… £101,341,100 to be precise.
- He could cost Man Utd up to £5.6mil per goal or assist.
- He could cost Man Utd up to £1.235mil per appearance.
- He could cost Man Utd up to £20,327 per minute played.
Now do Antony
Done
Holy shit the bed. Insanity.
TL/DL
Too Long Didn’t Lead?
I’m surprised his G/A are that high TBH
lol same - double figures!!
I actually love this
And antony? Do it for antony also…
Have you accounted for depreciation following the purchase in the P&L?
I bought him for £6.5m on CM 01/02 for my Norwich side. I think I found his level 😂
Looks legit. Overpaid. Another waste of a good talent.
That’s not how the Glazers look at the numbers. Not based on goals.
From the Glazers Financial point of view, that’s a 73 mil dollar ASSET on the books. More “expense” Assets mean more value regardless of if they perform.
United have the 4 worst transfers in football history. Antony, Sancho, Sanchez, Pogba.
I still think that Hazard is the worst so far but we’re getting there ngl
Hazard was a great player, just unlucky.
Hazard was arguably the 3rd best player at the time of his transfer and his goals / assists were even more expensive than Sanchos. Furthermore one can argue that Hazards fitness + injury issues were somewhat of his own fault due to never being a top committed pro
