Nketiah is my striker, fuck the noise

I don’t see any future where he isn’t a world beater at 27/28

He is good enough to be a 2nd choice.

The problem i that Jesus is toobinjury prone and leaves us with only 1 striker for too many games.

I think we can manage 3 good strikers in iur squad. We will need it to be compwtitive in CL and prem.

I’m with you about Jesus. Love him, but he’s just proving to be too injury prone. We need another striker.

It’s games like that where Nketiah scores a hattrick where you remember Lacazette managed 2 NPGs for us in an entire league season

      Lol what

Yes laca was gassed by the end of his time here. But his peak years were far bteee than anything Eddie has done. He even got player of the season for us

Eddie banging in some goals v one of the worst teams ever in the prem (at this rate) should just erase the stuff laca did for us

I still think we’re yet to see our best, we don’t have Jesus. Odegaard and Saka aren’t even at their best as well.

yep, and we have not seen Rice - Partey. Man that middle will make us so solid. And of course when Partey plays he makes the passes between the lines that nobody else makes in this team, that will make Odegaard and Saka better

I can’t see United getting in to Europe this season.

Villa, Brighton and Newcastle are just so much better atm. Even West Ham could pass them on the table

There’s 5 cl places this year so assuming they don’t get a repeat of last year’s utterly insanely easy run to the league cup final then seventh will get them Europe and as long as they have their customary rashford streak at some point they’ll pull that off.

Would you be happy if we just won the FA cup this season? Realise it is too early for us to be talking about trophies, but as far as expectations go, what trophies would you want us to really focus on and get this season? What would be the benchmark for success this season for you?

Personally League and FA would be us really excelling. But I am not sure we can do both so I would not mind either. Given the progress we have had as a team I would be lowkey dissapointed if we only won the FA. But I still wouldn’t mind it. Champions league, I only expect a decent run. Ending up in the Semis would be great, if we got dumped at that stage I wouldn’t be too mad. The lads will have gotten a nice feel of the competition at that point and we can go again next season. The league is tricky coz city always just feels like a shoe in and despite our start, it could really go either way with Liverpool and Spurs (yes) now in the mix.

Yeah I think so. As long as we maintain ourselves in the league and come second to city then there is no problem in only coming away with the fa cup.

I think it would be a shame at this point to not win the league cup.

Hale End boys seeing Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Saka starting at a Premier League game, Nelson off the bench as well…

This can be the difference maker between a very good and a GREAT academy. The desire to achieve what the previous lads did is a huge motivation boost.

On the plus side for United, Real Madrid have a good number of 30+ year olds who they can buy in the summer to be permanently inured for them. That should fix their problems

So, this is going to get me mauled and downvoted but I have a confession to make: Even if I support this club by heart, am I the only person who tries to support some underdogs or smaller team like Luton to succeed in the Prem? I know it’s a lost cause and eventually I could hate them if we got beaten by them. But in the end, I just can’t help but find some smaller clubs like Luton to be fascinating even if I support Arsenal with all my heart.

Not really. I’ve always liked and respected Brighton. You probably couldn’t call them pure underdogs at this point, but their scouting system, development and playing style is all really admirable and it all seems to have happened very organically. I obviously wouldn’t say I support Brighton but I like seeing them do well and making European football.

Also, as others have mentioned, in 2016 our situation was made a lot less sickening by the fact it was a team like Leicester that won the league.

Gonna have a bit of a pipe dream that if Luton survives, it would be funny that they will win the league next. But nah considering some people already tip them to go down anyways due to their weak squad. Regardless, it still would be interesting anyways. Even so, if Luton go down, hopefully they somehow came back stronger.

      That’s most people?

We love an underdog in the UK and to be honest even though we absolutely fucked our last chance at getting a title under Wenger I still was supporting Leicester to do the impossible.

Doesn’t that how football works? I love following the Championship and League 1 and always have a few clubs that I wish to do well for the season. As for the PL I have a soft spot for Bmouth and what they are trying to do.

Speaking of that, I will say that I do feel sad towards other clubs who faced real struggle like Southend United, Reading, Wigan, Birmingham City, Scunthorpe, Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Bolton Wanderers and so on and so forth. Those club fates made me starting to appreciate Arsenal more and be grateful towards our current status even if we have our own struggles. I don’t want to dunk on those clubs I mentioned because what happened to them is absolutely fucked but at the same time, I wish that most of them bounced back in the end despite the trials and tribulations that they had. And it’s why clubs like Luton feels fascinating for me due to their current position now.

For those who have been watching this sport for a decently long time, how do you think Saka & Martinelli compare to Robben & Ribery at Bayern? Were those two better? Will our boys be that good in a couple more years? Are their playstyles similar?
