We played lights out football last season but it wasn’t sustainable as we struggled towards the end. This season, our style has been a little more ugly but we are grinding out wins. There is much more quality depth as well. I am hopeful.
Why do people keep saying this? It was pretty damn sustainable, we just lost Saliba and Tomiyasu at the worst possible moment. The football itself was not the issue.
I think until before the last few weeks, Arsenal were top 3 for the fewest changes to the lineup in the league and that’s despite injuries to some key players. That’s what people mean when they say it was not sustainable, as it showed with injuries and drop in intensity.
It is true that our play style suffered without Saliba and Tomi. However, we were extremely poor in those games against Southampton, West Ham, Forest, and Brighton where we still should’ve had enough to beat them.
I think one main issue is that if anyone else were top, say city or Liverpool we’d be happy with this start. But because it’s spurs we’re comparing against that, and rightfully want to be better than them
What being able to defend competently and consistently does - provides you with a higher floor. As long as we’re scoring goals, we’ll win games because we don’t leak goals like in eras past. It’s actually refreshing not to be anxious every time we lose the ball.
I think were are going tonbe stretched thin with CL footie.
RW, CF are ares without depth that wins trophies.
Eddies good and so is nelson but im not sure the manager is playing them enough.
I can see Zinny and Tomi going down when we need them and Jesus is another issue.
Blowing the fulham and spurs games, could be critical come end of srason
We are also competing in the CL so the games are tougher. Fulham game is the only one I think should have won. Other draws were against decent teams.
