Maybe not home. Maybe the fuck outa Colombia.

Also, I don’t much care for Liverpool but the little documentary piece about Diaz where his dad is showing that shitty ass field his son played on; it won me over on him and his wholesome dad.

Praying they make it to safety.

Yeah but who would he take? It’s not just his parents, kidnappers could go for any siblings, aunts and uncles, and so on.

@Thanos_Stomps As a person who has over 50+ relatives in Colombia, and a distant relative who was the President of Colombia from 2002 to 2010, sometimes finances play a role whether you can leave a dangerous country. Also, many people have small businesses, especially in Medellin and that’s how they make a living. People hate leaving suddenly selling at a huge loss, and not being able to afford to leave a dangerous country. Look at the Japanese American citizens in the United States after the Pearl Harbor attack by the Empire of Japan in World War 2 against the United States. They were forced to sell homes and their own businesses for a pittance. This is the sad reality of my ancestral homeland.

We all exist without and within our clubs. No one deserves this kind of treatment - appreciate you putting banter aside to acknowledge the humanity here.

Who wouldn’t? I support Chelsea but I don’t boo a Man United legend when he dies. I wouldn’t insult someone who’s going through a really hard time based on the club he’s associated with. 99.99% of football fans are not like the small percentage of Man City fans who had the audacity to insult a Man United legend when he died. It’s just sad and I wish Luis Diaz the best of luck.

I had an uncle in Colombia who was a federal judge in Medellin, Colombia in the 80’s during the heyday of the Medellin Cartel led by Pablo Escobar. Every public figure had bodyguards, had a driver who would change their driving route to court every day and bulletproof vehicles were the norm. This type of safety precautions included the President of Colombia as when he came to Medellin.

what will happen is within a day or two theyll be mysteriously found alive and well, which means he paid a shit ton of ransom for them.

hopefully they’ll put his ordeal behind them and move the heck out of these crime infested drug cartel controlled countries

Wake up, bro. Every country is turning into a shithole.

Players and their families are getting robbed, tied up, and beaten in their homes in cities all across Western Europe. It’s only a matter of time before the kidnappings start. A global convergence towards Third World sensibilities

I desperately want to be wrong but I found no reason to let the hostages free when they got the ransom and the hostages has known too much about the kidnappers. Pray for poor victims

Damn. Terrible. I’m from LATAM and it’s very common to be kidnapped, specially in central america (bar costa rica and panama) and Colombia. They often ask for 1-2k, literally nothing but obviously here they were targeting them since they know they are luchos parents. Terrible but in hindsight (if it’s not drug related), they should be “fine” if you negotiate and pay them some money.

Why would they be there when they could be in the UK?

I guess there are many valid reasons, but still their boy Luis is a millionaire who can afford them a small house in Southport or somewhere similar.

No one deserves to be kidnapped no matter who they are or where they come from and there certainly should be no payout. People that do this kind of stuff should be made examples of and executed in front of the country if not the world. GOD show mercy on Mr. Diaz and return him safely and I will be praying Psalms 91 for his safe return.
