Chelsea started off the season poorly but recently they’ve picked up good results. The quality of the play had improved and they’ve got an inform attack of Mudryk, Palmer and Sterling (once Nkunku returns from injury it will be stronger.)

So I wanted to know if you guys think Chelsea is genuinely back or if this bit of form will drop off. Tell me what you think!

    96/97 - 6th

    97/98 - 4th

    98/99 - 3rd

    99/00 - 5th

    00/01 - 6th

    01/02 - 6th

    02/03 - 4th

“Mid table” is pretty disingenuous, the average league position in those years leading up to Roman taking over was between 4th and 5th.

      convenient you stop at 96/97…

      95/96 11th

      94/95 11th

      93/94 14th

      92/93 11th

that’s include the other 4 Prem seasons.

and let’s not forget the spent half of the 80s in Division 2 (Championship), and some of the 70s.

Well you said early 2000s and before that, so I included the early 2000s and a few years before that. Your statement was just plain old wrong. Not denying that Roman’s money took the club to the jext level, but they were already a team competing for top 4 pretty consistently.

Didn’t United also finish 11th-13th a few times? As well as spending time in Division 2? Football was different back then, so stop pretending like it wasn’t.
