One of my familial branches has been here since before fuckin James Town, we came over with a Jesuit mission somewhere on the east coast want to say Mid-Atlantic but the oral traditions forgot so I don’t have that knowledge.

He was in Portland, had his hair up in a bun and wore timberlands. Every time I spotted him he blew a whistle and had a bunch of crackheads beat the shit out of me and steal my left shoe. What the hell was he gonna do with my left shoe, no way his big feet were gonna fit him.
This is a reference to a comic.

IDK we could always damnatio memoriae him and shoot anyone who brings him up in a positive light. Though I will say I would prefer crucifixion for that execution but at least at first that feels like it’d be untenable.

The modern population of the island are the natives, kinda like how Icelands population is completely native to the island. Not to say people didn’t fuck around on the island occasionally but there’s basically no evidence of prehistoric settlement of the Falklands.

It’s a reference to a great depression slogan that I can’t remember in full but included the slogan “a chicken in every pot” IE food in every kitchen.

That’s almost exactly what I expected to be the answer, tends to be that way with munitions either you keep using the same machines from a hundred years ago or you can’t and you get the fancy new things.

Yeah Mississippi is more or less a shithole by circumstance nowadays, most of these other states are actively trying to be more shithole. Also Mississippi is trying to reform itself somewhat, namely their education system. Would actually be funny if Mississippi reformed so thoroughly that the only thing keeping them from the top ten best states is their geography.

Just pray to Persephone while you do it. Best case scenario she calls in a favor with her mom, worst case scenario you get to have lunch with the queen of the afterlife when her brother kills you. Either that or pray to another war god and see what happens for shits and giggles, personally I’d choose Odin for that one since he’d probably appreciate the fuckery.

Which do you hate more the constant buzzing noise your car makes or the occasional annoying noise it makes at random? Barrett is that occasional annoying noise.

Yeah I kinda doubt that you’ll see the tracks of an ancient city in Lebanon in D.C.
This is a stupid joke.

This is why I personally like to use the cool shit Yugoslavia did. Obscure by western standards and the only ones who get weird about it are Serbs.

I’ve seen folks passing around this bit of head canon for years like even before I started getting into 40k circa 2016 long. Pretty sure the first time I heard it was someone on a podcast I used to listen to joked about Event Horizon being set in the 40k universe, I want to say it was Alchestbreachs old podcast RLF but I legit can’t remember since I was one of those guys that was constantly sleep deprived up until I graduated highschool.

Ignoring essentials like groceries then it’s mostly random shit and games. Going over me buying antique surplus and retrotech from various sources would be kinda pointless. Though I will say I’m the least profligate of my friends since as I get older the Scottish and Autistic frugality increases.

As a relatively younger guy (26) I do suspect that a lot of that comes from whales and whatnot IE the richer subsect. At least amongst my friends we have all started to approach old man thinks 20 bucks is a lot of money levels of stingy.

Event Horizon is a great 40k movie, shut thije mouth Heretic.
I’ve seen the term Zillennial thrown about as a sorta mirror to Xillenial. Really the generation measurement is always going to have this flaw for example generation Jones or whatever is going on with younger Gen Z and elder Gen Alpha. Really this flaw is going to continue until social and technological advancements slow down from the absolutely breakneck speed they’ve been going at for the last 150 years. I do have to wonder if we are seeing that slowdown or if we are seeing the modern equivalent of the 1930s where Europe was building up to WW2 and the US was giving the Slavs a run for their money in the depressing literature department.
Also us elder Gen Z. But we have a lot of millennial overlap so…

Well I was figuring that most of the great planes will probably depopulate due to trade collapse. Not necessarily due to ecological issues but s second dustbowl is always possible I suppose.

Cludge a couple together and that bright fucker in the sky will probably power quite a few things.

I think there’s also a factor of WW1 and 2, even well into the depression it wasn’t too uncommon for men to wear somewhat colorful clothes but after WW2 it seems that the only folks using color were pimps and hippies. From there it was simply a matter of industrial clothing not really giving folks an option.
