Not to charge the battery enough to start it again if the gas station is two minutes from OP’s house and they turn it off there. I’d want to drive or let it run at least 15-20 minutes, ideally more, before I tried restarting after a jump start.

I had exactly the same issue once, and the One Time in my life I put gas in with the engine running, a cop pulls up at the pump across from me. I started mentally preparing my explanation but he never even looked at me. He walked in the store and I finished pumping and left before he came back out.
