I live pretty close to your area and just bought my first bag of whole bean coffee this week (previously just got pre-ground packages from the grocery). Most of the coffee shops in my area (eTown) use Senergos as their roaster, so that’s what we got to start. Excited to try some other stuff regionally.

Do It Yourself@beehaw.org•DIY, what are you working on this weekend?
6·3 years agoStaining red oak for a slat wall around our fireplace. Hope to get it installed this week.

Diabetes•I just don't understand why it's so fucking hard for insurance companies to just do their goddamn jobs. I've been on the Dexcom G6 for years, stop trying to tell me I don't need it, you aren't my doct
2·3 years agoI feel ya. They technically are doing their jobs. Their job is to try as hard as they can to screw you over so that their bosses can buy a fifth house and yacht in the Caman Islands. And those Dexcom G6s just seem like a totally unnecessary expense when you can just pee on the stick at the Dr office once a week to check your BG levels.
Decided if I was going to lose all my data I may as well make the most of it. So today I factory reset, rooted, unlocked, and flashed Lineage OS onto it. It’s running way better but still lags a lot. Might be time to upgrade.

All the time. That and maintenance. I got so much joy from finally having the supplies to change my car oil at home.

2·3 years agoWe live in a pretty rural area and take a lot of trips on it. We’ve even camped in the back with the seats down. It’s also the first SUV we’ve owned and just love the versatility of it. But that part is true of any SUV.

4·3 years agoI absolutely love our 2013 Toyota Highlander Limited. Have a roof rack on it and it’s fantastic at what it does. Just got back from a trip to town with two little ones and a load of lumber on the roof. It’s understated styling is just so pleasing to look at and it’s really comfortable inside with an amazing sound system. Just all around a very enjoyable (albeit boring) car to own.
Good suggestion! Might try that.
The A was like the budget one. Specifically I’ve had multiple cracked screens (never had one on an Android before this phone) and lately it’s been unusably slow. Like, can’t even swipe down to see notifications or even hit the home button kind of slow Could just be my phone, though. 🤷♂️
My beloved Pixel 2 started having charger issues and then my carrier dropped support for it, sadly. Also really miss my red Nexus 5. On a Pixel 3a currently and this thing is the worst phone I’ve ever owned.

Simple Living@lemmy.ml•Slow living is inherently anti-capitalist, but the aesthetic is notEnglish
3·3 years agoYesterday I swung by someone’s house for something and she was out in the treehouse reading or writing something. No social media. Didn’t see a phone. Just enjoying the moment. Best quote from Secret Life of Walter Mitty, “Beautiful things don’t ask for attention”. The moment when the world famous photographer sees the elusive snow leopard he’s been chasing and rather than take the photo he just sits there and breathes in that moment. Not even doing what he came to do just so he gets to fully experience it. That’s slow living. It’s inherently anti-social media

This exactly, except Ibuse a DeWalt. I have found that the brand power tool used has little effect on the taste and extraction, however.
