1·1 month ago@imeansurewhynot to your point, the Progressive Party was born out of the Republican Party in the north; it was after the New Deal that Republicans became known as conservatives for opposing it, which I find really interesting. Conversely, Democrats were conservatives in the south, but became liberals ever since supporting the New Deal.

I speculate that Trump is playing a similar role as FDR in flipping each party’s form of government and serving more than 2 terms to get it done lol. Trump would flip the Republican Party back to centralized government and the Democrat Party back to decentralized government. If not during his presidency, I think at some point the flip will happen back to how it was in the First Party System.
