When you’re a club like Betis, it baffles me that decision-making could be so short-sighted that you end up going after a 35 year old free agent.
Sell Luiz Felipe after the season starts and then what? Go against the advice of the coach on top of that. Baffling to me.
What a massive win for La Real! And what a fantastic performance as well.
Merino, Mendez, and Zubi is one of the very best midfields in the world. Bossed the game today and showed supreme technical ability. A joy to watch.
Celta doesn’t even look bad, they’ve been so unlucky as well
Losing the 2-0 lead to Barcelona
The Bamba goal vs Mallorca that was millimeters from crossing the line
Last minute loss to Las Palmas
Had a man up vs Getafe and didn’t take advantage of it (instead conceded almost immediately after the sending off)
Rafa could be blamed for part of it, but also Celta need to be better in these situations
I really don’t see them challenging for Europe
Of course, I’m talking strictly about this matchday though
Think Atletico and Barca were easily worse than their opponents. Villarreal and Betis pretty lucky too. Sevilla were just about as good as PSV, if only a bit worse. They should have won nonetheless.
La Real and Madrid were both good
Best matchday Spain has had in a while, almost perfect. Sevilla wins and it’s 7/7 wins (and they were very unlucky).
Performance-wise, pretty much only Madrid and La Real were better than their opponents. Maybe Betis too. In particular Villarreal, Barcelona, and Atletico were lucky to win this week.
It’s not an injury crisis though. They sold two defenders.
