When you account for occupation and time raising children the gender pay gap is small, and most likely attributable to womens risk aversion to asking for raises.

The bigger problem I’d say is the drive to get women into the work force was deflationary, leading to looser monetary policy and lower interest rates, which ballooned asset values leading to two incomes now being required to afford the average mortgage.

So this means instead of getting more prosperous and having more time we actually have less, as technological deflation and an expanded work force went into higher home prices and stock valuations. The economy grew and many people got very rich, but those without assets had a wall of cheap debt put up in front of them, and its mostly people in their child rearing ages affected by this phenomenon.

Just because it grows at 8% doesnt mean its fake, its also fake because the Fed is a corrupt institution that stopped caring about measuring real inflation a long time ago.

Private housing is failing because its not a free market. Zoning prevents density, permitting and approvals cause large costly delays, developer fees have risen thousands of percent, we have greenbelt now that prevents large swathes from being developed. What can public housing do against Nimbys and municipals that secretly dont want density because it might lower property values or add congestion?

The NDP and Liberals are clearly willing to label anyone a racist who goes against immigration, but they seem to also be fine with putting these same people 20 to a basement, which sounds more racist to me.

They were really worried about “small business”, the LMIA scams, the Tim Hortons and Burger Kings workers living 20 to a basement due to the massive housing shortage.

It kind of makes sense, most people have a routine, people they live with that depend on them. I wonder if homeless people just wander the streets, get high in different areas, are gone for days. Maybe the police have no means to solve something like that, and I’d be curious what their budgets are.
